Internal Tie-Down Points

Rated D-rings or lashing rails fixed to the floor and/or wall structure, positioned to allow straps at an effective restraint angle — a minimum 35° from horizontal is the general Australian load restraint standard, and it applies just as much inside an enclosed space as on an open deck. An enclosed trailer without internal anchor points is really just a weatherproof box — cargo still needs positive restraint to stop sliding into the walls or doors under brief hard braking.

Load Positioning

Heavier items positioned low and toward the front (over or ahead of the axle) keep the combination's centre of gravity stable; loading everything toward the rear doors for easy access can unbalance towing behaviour on a lightly loaded trip. Distribute weight side to side too — an enclosed trailer hides an unevenly loaded interior from view in a way an open box trailer doesn't, making this easier to get wrong without noticing.

Load Restraint at the Doors

Cargo shifting against the rear doors under braking can force them open if the load itself pushes against the latch mechanism — a real risk specific to enclosed trailers that doesn't exist on an open box trailer. Positioning heavier or loose items away from the immediate door area, and restraining the load independently of relying on the doors to contain it, avoids this.
